About Me

My name is Hannah Zimmering. I am Registered Psychologist through the College of Alberta Psychologists, living and working on the traditional territories of the Ta'an Kwäch'än Council and the Kwanlin Dün First Nation. From a young age I have been curious about mental wellness - and have spent most of my life trying to support and understand people. I grew up in Ontario and moved to the Yukon in 2009, living first in Dawson City and then in Whitehorse. I have a Master of Counselling from the University of Calgary. I draw on a range of experiences both professionally and personally to help inform how I approach this work.

My framework for practice comes from a feminist, anti-oppressive lens that acknowledges how the systems and culture we live in impact our daily lives. I strive to provide a safe and supportive environment where people have the opportunity to get to know themselves and increase their understanding of how their earlier life experiences impact them day to day. I assist people to work through any problems they are currently facing and improve their lives and relationships. I endeavour to create a space where all people feel welcome.

I work with people seeking counselling for a range of issues including depression, anxiety, experiences of trauma/childhood trauma/PTSD, workplace injury/stress, relationship challenges, and grief/loss.
